Thomas Desrosiers, Google

Currently based in Atlanta, Georgia, Thomas Desrosiers is a cloud security engineer at Google with a multifaceted background in technology, business, and music. His journey began at Vanderbilt University's Blair School of Music, where he earned a Musical Arts degree in clarinet performance under the tutelage of renowned instructor Bil Jackson. While an undergraduate, Thomas also explored his interests in technology and engineering, engaging in hands-on projects. In one semester, he spent time assisting university HVAC technicians with equipment maintenance and building management systems. In another, he created a grid computing system that was used for medical research as part of an incubator program. His unique combination of artistic discipline and technical curiosity led him to pursue a Master of Marketing at Vanderbilt's Owen Graduate School of Management, where he honed his strategic and entrepreneurial skills.

This diverse foundation prepared him for his successful career at Google, where he worked as a Cloud Technical Resident before transitioning into his current role focused on providing safety and security to the web. After a five-year hiatus from performing, Thomas has been drawn back to the world of music as the Director of Operations for the Classical Remix Music Festival. In this role, he applies his professional expertise to help grow the organization and enrich the Atlanta community. As a lifelong multi-instrumentalist, he continues to play saxophone and electric bass, and is excited to once again have the clarinet as a central part of his life.
